Droppin’ Science back at the Vibe Bar on Saturday Feburary 4th, where we gladly welcome the return of one of our special guest dj X-kutz! X will be spinning alongside our residents Matman (DMC Champ), Nickname (Classic Material) & Daredevil (DMC/ITF Champ). Expect fast-paced party vibes, a wide range of hip hop new to old, funk & disco breaks and more, mixed & chopped by 4 of London’s most talented djs!

X-Kutz :

Years of hard work fine tuning his turntablist technique and digging for beats have made X-Kutz one of London’s freshest Djs. He currently mashes up Hip Hop, Dubstep and D&B shows all around London and has held various residencies including performing alongside Jazzy Jeff, Rodney P and Katy B, & was resident DJ at the seminal Deal Real open mic show where he was featured on primetime television show CD:UK.

X-Kutz is a beast on the turntables, combining razor sharp scratch skills with flawless track selection and crowd rocking ability, the man is on fire right now, don’t sleep!

Hailing from Tokyorkshire, DJ/Producer Kidkanevil first came to prominence with the release of his critically acclaimed debut album ‘Problems & Solutions’ back in 2007, and has since gone from strength to strength. His lively dj sets often span many genres, from hip hop to reggae to dubstep to old school jungle/dnb, with plenty of lazers thrown in for good measure!

Now three albums deep, his latest LP ‘Basho Basho’ was released earlier last year to great critical acclaim, & followed up by a remixed version featuring some of the most talented producers out there today.

Kidk is also an integral part of the group ‘Stateless‘ who’s critically acclaimed album has recently dropped on Ninja Tune records!

This Saturday is all about the Vibe Bar on East London’s Brick Lane, where Droppin’ Science residents Nickname, Daredevil & Matman will be joined by our guest DJ Snips (Livin’ Proof), providing you with another legendary lesson in hip hop party rocking!

A co-founder & resident dj of London’s famous Livin’ Proof night, The transatlantic Dj Snips has also made a name for himself as both a dj & producer on both sides of the pond, dividing his time between London & NYC. A tour dj for Immortal Technique, he has also spun for many well known artists as resident dj for Deal Real records (r.i.p.), including Mos Def, Kanye West, John Legend, The Black Eyed Peas, Cassidy, Akir, Pharaoh Monch, Saigon, Ghostface, Dead Prez, Pete Rock & Cl Smooth, The Gza, Estelle, Klashnekoff, Skinnyman and Sway – and produced beats for the likes of M1 (Dead Prez), Shady Records recording artist Cashis, Trife da God, Sav Kills, Spit Supreme, Donny Goines, Ali Vegas, Ness (Bad Boy), Akir, Mysone, Poison Pen, Serius Jones, Planet Asia, Smiff N Wessun, Capadonna, Sean Price, Big Lou, Strong Arm Steady, Jay Arch, Cuban Link, Skyzoo, & Sha Stimuli (US) as well as UK heavyweights Poisonous Poets, Sway, Baby Blue, Stylah, Yungun, Doc Brown, Skinnyman, Lowkey and Durrty Goodz.

After a short summer break Droppin’ Science is back at the Vibe Bar this Saturday, where we gladly welcome the return of DJ Swerve (Kiss FM) on the 1s & 2s.

Swerve straight killed it for us last october, and we expect nothing less this time around! His long-running hip hop and R&B show on Kiss FM goes out weeknights Monday to Thursday 10pm-12am to much critical acclaim including the 2010 Urban Music Award for best radio show. Swerve also scooped the 2009 UMA award for best dj & has just been nominated in both categories this year! Come down to find out why..

Swerve has also made major waves on the grime scene recently, producing the massive anthems ‘Street Fighter Riddim‘ by D Double E, & P Money’s ‘Ho Riddim‘.
