The Faile Bast Deluxx Fluxx Arcade [Exhibition]

Friday, February 19th, 2010

Posted by Nickname

I’m a little late writing about this (mad hectic month!), however it’s certainly not too late for anyone to head over to the Lazarides gallery on Greek St, Soho to check out the Faile X Bast exhibition. Definitely not one to be missed here, expect flouro colours, old school arcade machines, table football and more. Bring your best shades too!

To kick-start 2010, Lazarides Gallery are proud to present a rare treat in the form of Faile and long-time collaborator Bast. The two floors of Lazarides Greek Street will be taken over for a truly experiential exhibition. Faile and Bast’s signature elements will resound throughout the gallery, creating an explosive installation. You’ll be able to interact with the products of their artistic collaboration, and even purchase original works for just £2, unless, you want to use them within the exhibition, intrigued? You should be.

Friday 12th February,
12pm – 7pm

I popped into Wholesome at the weekend… a brand new store opened on Rivington Street, East London. A real nice little shop with a good selection of premium brands, from 10Deep, Diamond, Crooks & Castles, G.R.I.N.D, Trapstar & The Hundreds.

A mellow vibe, good music and a nice couple of chaps running it too. Be sure to pop in when you’re in the area and support our local, all round decent independent clothing stores!

Their website is on it’s way, and you’ll find all the details here.

In the meantime, check their blog here.

Bullion – Say Goodbye To What / Crazy Over You [Promo]

Tuesday, December 29th, 2009

Posted by Nickname

Brand new single from Bullion, ‘Say Goodbye To What’ b/w ‘Crazy Over You’. The 7” and download will be available on One-Handed Music on 25 January.

After Bullion’s ‘Young Heartache EP’ ushered in the dreamy days of summer, the young producer returns with a brace of wistful songs for winter in his singularly perfectionist style. ‘Say Goodbye To What’ is hook-laden psychedelic funk, a pop song brimming with intricacies and a beautifully-skewed production approach. It may well be the strangest singalong track of the year. Flipside ‘Crazy Over You’ is a melancholic headnodder, drifting through the speakers with a lovelorn grace while pummelling you with the bottom end. The life of the romantic is not always an easy one. Bullion’s previous releases ‘Get Familiar’ and the ‘Young Heartache EP’ have established him as one of the top players in his field. The West Londoner can count Zane Lowe, Gilles Peterson, Mary Anne Hobbs, Benji B, Mr Scruff, Gaslamp Killer and Goldie amongst his fans, and that’s just for starters.
