“Kilowatt V2” is the second of three releases from Kilowatt Music’s producer series, and V2 sees Eric Lau bring the heat. Expect 2 vocal tracks, 2 interlude tracks and 2 intrumentals. Featuring Oddisee and Muhsinah, Eric continues to cement his role as one of the best soulful beat makers around at the moment. This is a great way to follow the stupidly dope New Territories LP, I can’t fault this one bit.

After Bullion’s ‘Young Heartache EP’ ushered in the dreamy days of summer, the young producer returns with a brace of wistful songs for winter in his singularly perfectionist style. ‘Say Goodbye To What’ is hook-laden psychedelic funk, a pop song brimming with intricacies and a beautifully-skewed production approach. It may well be the strangest singalong track of the year. Flipside ‘Crazy Over You’ is a melancholic headnodder, drifting through the speakers with a lovelorn grace while pummelling you with the bottom end. The life of the romantic is not always an easy one. Bullion’s previous releases ‘Get Familiar’ and the ‘Young Heartache EP’ have established him as one of the top players in his field. The West Londoner can count Zane Lowe, Gilles Peterson, Mary Anne Hobbs, Benji B, Mr Scruff, Gaslamp Killer and Goldie amongst his fans, and that’s just for starters.
