This month at Droppin’ Science we welcome the return of special guest DJ/Producer Kidkanevil (first word records), & we also welcome back regular Droppin’ Science contributor & future funk master DJ Druskillz. Join them & residents Matman, Nickname & Daredevil at the Vibe Bar on bonfire night for yet another legendary night out.
Hailing from Tokyorkshire, DJ/Producer Kidkanevil first came to prominence with the release of his critically acclaimed debut album ‘Problems & Solutions’ back in 2007, and has since gone from strength to strength. His lively dj sets often span many genres, from hip hop to reggae to dubstep to old school jungle/dnb, with plenty of lazers thrown in for good measure!
Now three albums deep, his latest LP ‘Basho Basho’ was released earlier last year to great critical acclaim, & followed up by a remixed version featuring some of the most talented producers out there today.
Kidk is also an integral part of the group ‘Stateless‘ who’s critically acclaimed album has recently dropped on Ninja Tune records!
Earlier this year he also dropped a free 7-track EP titled ‘freebeatsnbleeps’ – we recommend you go download that now if you haven’t already, get it at kidkanevil.bandcamp.com

“Sparse constellations of lethally-sharpened drum sounds flying around the listener act as a single structure of seemingly impossible strength.” Wire Magazine
Another killer party last weekend. Thanks to everyone that passed through and to this month’s guest Chris Read for a tight party set, and for ending with some jungle bangers!
We must apologise for the mix up with the late license, it was completely out of our hands. We had every reason to believe that we were open until 3am.
Below are a couple snaps from the night (thanks to Garf for the photos).
