Droppin’ Science is back at the Vibe Bar on Saturday March 6th, & on the first saturday of each month.

After tearing down our night back in October, We welcome the return of special guest & extended fam, DJ IQ.

IQ is one extremely talented producer & DJ, most recently recognised as Professor Green’s Tour DJ, Sarah Love’s stand in DJ for her Hip Hop M1x show on BBC’s 1Xtra, and for his killer ‘Flashing Lights‘ mixtape & his ‘A Loop Theory‘ album with Asaviour.

UK emcee Tranqill’s new EP was 2 Years in the making but is finally here courtesy of One-Handed Music. Whilst it doesn’t officially drop until March 15th, you can download it now from his Bandcamp page. The EP is only 4 tracks (including a Paul White remix) & their instrumentals, but it’s quality music & for just £2, it’s a serious bargain.

He’s offering ‘Deadly Wintaz’ for free download too. A seriously good track produced by Dj IQ (former Droppin’ Science guest & extended family).

The Headspace mixtape series is a collaboration of minds between the Basement Sessions podcasts and online Hip Hop community and the Hip Hop Hype Dog blog alongside UK Hip Hop Mixtapes.

The idea of Headspace was to create a project that mixes well known names with up and coming talent. All of the artists involved represent the positive and united UK Hip Hop scene that both Basement Sessions and Hype Dog are working towards.

Big shout out to Hype Dog & co. for their relentless support of everything we’re doing here & for the English hip-hop community in general. This is one dope collection of UK tracks that represents many of the best artists doing it right now on these shores – cop dat shit!!

You may have witnessed the DJ skills of DJ IQ at our Droppin’ Science party back in October. If so, you’ll probably be pretty excited about his next mix CD release Flashing Lights. If not, you’ll get another chance to see him in action at the launch party on Wednesday December 2 @ Market Place.

Joining IQ on the night are Mr Thing (also a past guest at Droppin’ Science) plus Alex Nut, Mr. Beatnick, Josey Rebelle and a couple of special guests.

The night doubles up as IQ’s birthday so come down and help him celebrate.
