This thursday Skillz the Dj Game will finally be available to buy for Ipad users! Me & DJ Daredevil from Droppin’ Science have been working on the soundtrack for a couple of years now for the Hong-Kong based production company Playpen Studios, creating specially re-edited & cut-up versions of tracks from the likes of Stones Throw Records, Ministry of Sound, Ninja Tune, Hospital Records & Om Records. I’ve been playing a pre-release version of the game for sometime now & I can tell you it’s a whole lot of fun, the control system is extremely intuitive, & a lot closer to the real thing than previous dj rhythm games!
A whole heap of videos have been released from various sources, I’ve posted up a few of my favourite ones I worked on below, check ‘em out!
After a short summer break Droppin’ Science is back at the Vibe Bar this Saturday, where we gladly welcome the return of DJ Swerve (Kiss FM) on the 1s & 2s.
Swerve straight killed it for us last october, and we expect nothing less this time around! His long-running hip hop and R&B show on Kiss FM goes out weeknights Monday to Thursday 10pm-12am to much critical acclaim including the 2010 Urban Music Award for best radio show. Swerve also scooped the 2009 UMA award for best dj & has just been nominated in both categories this year! Come down to find out why..
Swerve has also made major waves on the grime scene recently, producing the massive anthems ‘Street Fighter Riddim‘ by D Double E, & P Money’s ‘Ho Riddim‘.
Swerve will be joined by Droppin’ Science residents Matman (DMC Champ), Nickname (55DSL) & Daredevil (DMC Champ).
Don’t miss out on what is set to be yet another legendary night out!
Also this Saturday from 4-6pm you can check us out recording our increasingly popular ‘Droppin’ Science Show’ podcast, for the first time we will be broadcasting LIVE from the Upper Playground store in central London, so come hang out with us or watch live on: http://www.sensei.fm/
