DJ Matman
I’ve been djing for nearly half my life now, hip hop & scratching was my first musical love, and since those days I’ve horded a wide spectrum of music from many genres – my crates run deep!!
I had a little stint at dj battles back in the day & got into the UK DMC finals 4 times, I managed to win the 2003 European Turntable Techniques contest, I represented the UK in the 2004 World ITF final, & won the 2005 UK DMC supremacy championship.
I’ve supported many famous acts to numerous to list, including the likes of Public Enemy, De La Soul, GZA, DJ Premier, Little Brother, A-trak, The Pharcyde, DJ Yoda, Rahzel, Grandmaster Flash and many, many more.. Career highlights for me would have to be recieving a hug of appreciation from Jazzy Jeff after i rocked a 10 minute dj routine before one of his sets, & scratching Q&A with DJ Q-bert live on stage, those guys are two of my biggest inspirations!
Nowadays I spend my time rocking many dope spots around London & worldwide, & recording scratches for the likes of Prose & Dr. Syntax, & for a forthcoming dj-based console game – I’ll tell you more about that when I’m allowed to speak on it!
